The pre-alarm is always an essential component of the AlertLatch system and effectively reduces the workload for operating personnel. When the window handles are operated, a microswitch in the red indicator cover is activated, triggering a warning tone. This urgent, audible feedback serves as a preventative measure against the misuse of the emergency exit.

The integrated lithium battery offers a significantly longer lifespan than the commonly used 9V block batteries. This ensures an extended operating time for the window guard without maintenance requirements, thus reducing operating costs.

Battery monitoring
A sufficiently charged battery is essential to ensure the protective function and thus the preservation of your valuables. Therefore, every window guard has internal battery level monitoring. The intelligent electronics check the remaining battery capacity every 30 days. If the capacity is only sufficient for a few more weeks, an audible signal sounds at regular intervals to alert you to the low battery level.

Automatic alarm shutdown
Often, a brief alarm from the window guard is enough to draw attention to the unauthorized opening of the secured window. Therefore, the intelligent electronics of the AlertLatch window guard offer an option to automatically deactivate the alarm. Users can choose between the following settings:
- Permanent alarm
- Alarm for 1 minute
- Alarm for 5 minutes.
